How to crop a PDF

  1. 1. Open the PDF

Choose a PDF from your device. The first page appears with a box around it. The file stays in your browser.

  2. 2. Choose what to keep

Drag the corners of the box, type the margins in millimetres or inches, or select Trim white margins to fit the box to the content. Use the arrows to check other pages.

  3. 3. Crop and download

Leave Pages empty to crop every page, or enter a range such as 1-3. Select Crop PDF and check the downloaded file.

What cropping changes

Cropping sets the visible area of each page. Text, links and images inside the box are untouched, so they stay sharp and selectable. What is outside the box is hidden, not deleted: it is still in the file. To remove private information for good, use Redact PDF.

One box for many pages

The margins you set are trimmed from every page you choose, measured from each page’s own edges. Trim white margins checks all of those pages first and keeps the smallest margin on each side, so no page loses content. Pages smaller than the margins are left as they are. Saving a new copy does not keep digital-signature validity, and password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.

Questions & answers

How do I crop all pages of a PDF at once?

Leave the Pages box empty. The margins you set on the page in the preview are trimmed from every page. Use the arrows under the preview to check other pages before you save.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Type them in the Pages box, for example 1-3, 5. The other pages keep their size.

Can I remove white margins automatically?

Yes. Select Trim white margins. It checks the pages you chose and moves the box to the outer edge of their content, leaving a small gap. A scan with a grey or speckled background may have no white margin to find; drag the box yourself there.

Does cropping delete the hidden part or make the file smaller?

No. Cropping changes the visible area of each page. What you trimmed is still inside the file, so the size barely changes and a PDF editor could bring it back. To remove content for good, use Redact PDF.

Does it work with rotated or mixed-size pages?

Yes. Margins are measured from the edges of each page as it is displayed, so sideways pages are cropped the way you see them. A page smaller than the margins is left unchanged and the tool tells you which.

Is it really free?

Yes. Every Feemag tool is free, with no sign-up, no watermarks added by us and no daily limits.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser on your device and never uploaded to a server. Processing speed depends on your device and file size.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes: in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox) on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and Linux.
